Huffington Post Popular News: Best TV Commercials: A Look Back At The Greatest Ads Of All Time

With the Super Bowl bearing down on us in just two days -- and many of this year's ads already released in their entirety -- it's an ideal time to look back at our favorite TV commercials of the past few decades.

After all, who can forget Wendy's "Where's The Beef?" ads from the early 1980s with a tagline famously co-opted by candidate Walter Mondale to describe his rival Gary Hart for the Democratic nomination for president? Or what about Noxzema's "Take It All Off" ad from the late 1960s in which a sexy blonde urged a man to "take it all off" as he shaved his beard stubble with Noxzema foam?

When it comes to Super Bowl ads, a fan favorite remains the 1984 Apple Macintosh commercial introducing Apple's new desktop computer with images and music alluding to George Orwell's novel "1984." Also memorable is the "Mean Joe" Greene Code ad in which the Pittsburgh Steeler limps off the field and gets offered a refreshing Coca-Cola by a young fan.

Huffington Post Popular News: Ed Koch Dead: Mayor Who Became A Symbol Of NYC Dies At 88

NEW YORK -- Former Mayor Ed Koch, the combative, acid-tongued politician who rescued the city from near-financial ruin during a three-term City Hall run in which he embodied New York chutzpah for the rest of the world, died Friday. He was 88.

Koch died at 2 a.m. at NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia hospital, spokesman George Arzt said. The funeral will be Monday at Temple Emanu-El in Manhattan.

The quick reveal of Brian -- the boom mic guy from the documentary crew -- on last week's episode of "The Office" was not a one-off moment. It was the start of an arc for the character. Did that arc end with his firing during this week's back-to-back installments, or is it just getting started. Now that he's fired, what's to stop him from becoming a subject. Especially if Pam wants him to be.

The drama started when someone defaced Pam's mural down in the warehouse. She managed to track down who it was, but the guy, Frank, showed no remorse whatsoever. In fact, he was hostile in a way not seen on the show since Roy -- and perhaps Andy before he went for anger management.

After Dwight and Pam got back at Frank by painting on his truck in washable paint, Frank went ballistic. He was physically coming at Pam as if he was genuinely going to hurt her. This proved too much for Brian, who threw aside the boom mic and intervened. In doing so, he lost his job.

At home, he told Leonard to back him on this story, which got Penny interested. "So are you saying there is a chance that Amy and you might get physical?" she asked.

Uncharacteristically, Sheldon responded, "There is a possibility." Penny couldn't believe Sheldon was opening up about himself like that, or that he was considering taking things to the next level with Amy. If Amy finds out about this, she's going to lose her mind.

Huffington Post Popular News: Steven Robbins, Indiana Murderer, Mistakenly Freed In Chicago

CHICAGO (AP) — Police were hunting for a convicted murderer on Thursday after he was mistakenly released from custody in Chicago, where he was sent to face a drug charge while serving a 60-year prison sentence in Indiana.

Indiana Department of Corrections officials said Steven L. Robbins, 44, was sent to Cook County Circuit Court on Tuesday to face a drug charge. The charge was dropped, "but for reasons yet unknown, the offender was released by Illinois authorities without being held for return," the department said in a news release.

The Cook County Sheriff's Office said it was investigating how Robbins was released. The Gary, Ind., native was serving the decades-long sentence for murder and weapons convictions out of Marion County in Indiana. He started serving the sentence in October 2004 and his earliest projected release date was more than 16 years from now on June 29, 2029.
