Huffington Post Popular News: 'Once Upon A Time' Season 2 Midseason Finale: Cast Previews Unlikely Alliances, Overdue Confrontations

This Sunday's "Once Upon a Time" (Dec. 2 at 8 p.m. EST on ABC) promises to be a truly spectacular hour, as Emma (Jennifer Morrison) and Snow (Ginnifer Goodwin) face off against Cora (Barbara Hershey) and Hook (Colin O'Donoghue) in a desperate race to secure the compass that could return them to Storybrooke. Meanwhile, in an attempt to keep Cora out of our world, Regina (Lana Parrilla) and Rumplestiltskin (Robert Carlyle) put a plan into action that would kill anyone entering the portal -- including our favorite mother-daughter duo.

The Huffington Post visited the "Once Upon A Time" set in early November, and we spoke to the cast about what to expect from the this week's Season 2 midseason finale, titled "Queen of Hearts."

One of the most intriguing (and potentially catastrophic) developments in last week's episode was the uneasy alliance that formed between Regina and Rumple after they learned of Cora's return. Since the pair's relationship has been antagonistic at best thus far, Robert Carlyle pointed out that their partnership should be proof of just how big a threat Cora poses.

Huffington Post Popular News: Seclusion And Restraint In Schools: Parents Fight Back Against Deadly Tactics

Families across the country are challenging a system they say has not only failed to educate and protect their children, but also endangered their lives.

Dozens of lawsuits have been filed against schools and districts as parents speak out against physical disciplinary methods that have injured or killed their children, ABC News reports. The families claim that an extensive abuse of harsh methods to restrain misbehaving students -- many with special needs -- has become a chronic problem in U.S. schools.

"I know I won't feel him hug me anymore, or say, 'I love you, mommy,'" Sheila Foster told ABC News of her son Corey, who died in April of cardiac arrest while being forced off a basketball court by school staff. "Someone has to be held accountable for this because my son is dead. And this shouldn't happen anymore to another child, to another family.'"

Huffington Post Popular News: Filibuster Reform Poll: Americans Favor Requiring Real Debate

A majority of Americans are in favor of requiring senators who wish to filibuster a bill to actually stand up on the Senate floor and talk, according to a new HuffPost/YouGov poll.

The survey finds that 65 percent of Americans believe senators should have to "participate in debate for the entire filibuster," a proposal that has gained ground in recent weeks as Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and President Barack Obama have thrown their support behind reform efforts. Only 9 percent of those polled said that senators should be able to filibuster without being physically present, and another 26 percent said they were unsure.

Huffington Post Popular News: John Boehner On Fiscal Cliff Deal: 'We're Almost Nowhere'

WASHINGTON -- House Majority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) declared Friday that "we're almost nowhere" near a deal to avoid the fast approaching fiscal cliff, lashing out at President Barack Obama for insiting on higher taxes for the wealthy.

Speaking after Obama made a pitch in Pennsylvania to let tax rates rise for the top 2 percent of earners, the GOP leader insisted the widely divergent postions expressed by both sides were not just posturing and negotiating points, but represented a genuine deadlock.

"There's a stalemate. Let's not kid ourselves," Boehner told reporters on Capitol Hill, insisting his side was doing all it could to find an agreement. "I'm not trying to make this more difficult. If you've watched me over the last three weeks, I've been very guarded in what I have to say, because I don't want to make it any harder for me or the president or members of both parties to be able to find common ground."
