Goodbye, Michael!

Shocking news today! Michael Jackson, the King of Pop, passed away. I can't remember when in my childhood did I start to adore this wonderful singer. But one song that stuck to me from him is "Heal the World." Michael, with your music, you've healed the world.
HEAL THE WORLD
There's A Place In
Your Heart
And I Know That It Is Love
And This Place Could
Be Much
Brighter Than Tomorrow
And If You Really Try
You'll Find There's No Need
To Cry
In This Place You'll Feel
There's No Hurt Or Sorrow
There Are Ways
To Get There
If You Care Enough
For The Living
Make A Little Space
Make A Better Place...
Heal The World
Make It A Better Place
For You And For Me
And The Entire Human Race
There Are People Dying
If You Care Enough
For The Living
Make A Better Place
For You And For Me
If You Want To Know Why
There's A Love That
Cannot Lie
Love Is Strong
It Only Cares For
Joyful Giving
If We Try
We Shall See
In This Bliss
We Cannot Feel
Fear Or Dread
We Stop Existing And
Start Living
Then It Feels That Always
Love's Enough For
Us Growing
So Make A Better World
Make A Better World...
Heal The World
Make It A Better Place
For You And For Me
And The Entire Human Race
There Are People Dying
If You Care Enough
For The Living
Make A Better Place
For You And For Me
And The Dream We Were
Conceived In
Will Reveal A Joyful Face
And The World We
Once Believed In
Will Shine Again In Grace
Then Why Do We Keep
Strangling Life
Wound This Earth
Crucify Its Soul
Though It's Plain To See
This World Is Heavenly
Be God's Glow
We Could Fly So High
Let Our Spirits Never Die
In My Heart
I Feel You Are All
My Brothers
Create A World With
No Fear
Together We'll Cry
Happy Tears
See The Nations Turn
Their Swords
Into Plowshares
We Could Really Get There
If You Cared Enough
For The Living
Make A Little Space
To Make A Better Place...
Heal The World
Make It A Better Place
For You And For Me
And The Entire Human Race
There Are People Dying
If You Care Enough
For The Living
Make A Better Place
For You And For Me
Heal The World
Make It A Better Place
For You And For Me
And The Entire Human Race
There Are People Dying
If You Care Enough
For The Living
Make A Better Place
For You And For Me
Heal The World
Make It A Better Place
For You And For Me
And The Entire Human Race
There Are People Dying
If You Care Enough
For The Living
Make A Better Place
For You And For Me
There Are People Dying
If You Care Enough
For The Living
Make A Better Place
For You And For Me
There Are People Dying
If You Care Enough
For The Living
Make A Better Place
For You And For Me
You And For Me

At the Con-Ass Rally in Makati City

For people not in the know, or been living in a cave, the Philippine democracy is being threatened once again with the possibility of Charter Change or amending the Philippine Constitution. It is to shift the present presidential form of government to parliamentary. Such change, critics say, will extend the term of certain leaders. Over time, Charter Change or Cha-Cha have been in the consciousness of the Philippine political landscape and over time again, it has been suppressed. The turn of events came to an uproar when the House of Congress passed the House Resolution 1109 that will allow for the Constituent Assembly to push through without the approval of the Senate. In an article of the Philippine Inquirer,Baguio City Rep. Mauricio Domogan assured everyone of participation in the constituent assembly even the Senators who at the start opposed the move. He also said that it is the public who will judge the ratifications of the Constitution through a plebiscite. Domogan further clarifies that the House Resolution 1109 does not seek term extension. For more information, watch the clip below from QTV.
I was just passing by Ayala Avenue because of another business I had to attend when I heard people shouting in a makeshift stage in the intersection of Paseo de Roxas and Ayala Avenue. I just realized the Con-Ass Protest Rally is underway. Since I was not prepared for it or not in my itinerary, I just passed by towards Greenbelt then, to Glorietta and to MRT which is my usual mode of transportation to Quezon City. At the backstage, I saw a lot of political and showbiz personalities assembling together. So, I stop to take pictures using my cellphone and what do you know? Post it to my blog. One by one they appear. All who opposed the president and Cha-Cha. I saw Sen. Loren Legarda, Sen. Mar Roxas, and Sen. Benigno Aquino III. Governor Eddie Panlilio is also amongst the crowd and Jun Lozada, the whistle blower of the NBN-ZTE deal fiasco. At the far end, I saw this casual looking young politician by the name of Francis Escudero or Chiz, a senator talking to Navotas Mayor Tobias Tiangco and San Juan Mayor JV Ejercito. There were people behind me who went over and took pictures with Sen. Escudero so, I figured what the heck.

Honestly, he is cuter in person and less mellow than what people tell me about him. I voted him in the last Senatorial election. Philippine politics need young minds like him. Enough with the traditional conservatives hounding the government for like zillion of years now. I voted and will vote for CHANGE! Like Obama's battlecry, YES WE CAN.

Flash Back-2-Back: Famous Sightings
I will begin a flash back series beginning this one that will showcase what has happened before I built this blog. I still have a life, you know! I am starting then with famous people/celebrities I met because of work, acquaintances and social gatherings.

Mrs. Imelda Marcos
Former First Lady Imelda Marcos is still famous wherever she goes. Still strong at 80 years old, she is worldly popular because of her large, gargantuan collection of shoes. She recently visited the IFEX 2009 at the SMX Convention Center, Pasay City. She was literally hugged over by the exhibitors. Beauty and health guru, Ms. Cory Quirino also attended the exhibit. She shared her beauty secrets to the public in one of the exhibit's seminars.

Ricky Lee
Ricardo Lee. My Idol. I attended his book launching of "Si Tatang at ang Himala ng Ating Panahon" at Powerbooks SM Megamall last May 31. Several name droppers in showbusiness showed support to the multi-awarded scriptwriter from Daet, Camarines Norte.

He wrote the movies that etched immortality in Philippine cinema including Himala, Brutal, Moral, Karnal, Gumapang Ka Sa Lusak, Cain at Abel, and the recent, Aishite Imasu Mahal Kita 1941 and Dubai. Other celebrities were present like Dingong Dantes, Angel Locsin, Danton Remoto, Allan Paule, Jean Garcia. They read some of the stories Ricky Lee wrote on the anthology to the delight of everybody. Raw. Melancholic. Sorrowful. Ricky Lee unravels the true lives of the Manila's "Les Miserables," as well as history's forgotten heroes from unexpected places, the rebel soldier from Bohol and the martyr of the farmers. It also includes the script of what is considered the most significant film in the Asia-Pacific, HImala.

About That Boy... Bryan Boy

I knew about Bryan Boy, the heavenly body in the bloggosphere way back in 2006 through ANC. I am a TV junkie then since I was laid off from a previous job in a hotel. I browsed over his blog and what can I say but kudos! He really made his mark in the celestial map. Fashion... fashion and more fashion. I started having a Fashion IQ because of him. And I'm gay! That should be given right away! I can say his success in blogging is like Susan Boyle on Youtube. I lost in touch with his blog when I started working as a college instructor. That what you get when you don't have a living staring at a computer all day. Now that I do have that job in a government agency, I caught up with him and just in time when he was featured on a net-zine SWIDE by Dolce and Gabbana.
He was damned honest in this article and even so humble about his experiences as a blogger extraordinaire. I was particularly moved by his sweet "encounter" with Mr. DK in China. One can't imagine Bryan Boy gets emotional to guys he like after being a bitchy/racy/flamboyant/fashion addict that he is. Its so sweet. I can really relate to this story. I just hope Mr. DK is the right guy for Mr. Bryan Boy. Catch his truth-to-tell love story with Mr. DK.
