Entering Super Bowl XLVIII, 25 quarterbacks have been named Super Bowl MVP. Not surprisingly, Colin Kaepernick and Joe Flacco are the odds-on favorites to take home the Pete Rozelle Trophy this year.
Of course, neither Flacco or Kaepernick have ever been named to a Pro Bowl or appeared in the Super Bowl so superlative, MVP-worthy performances are no sure thing. That being said, both have impressed on the road to New Orleans.
Flacco has yet to throw an interception while connecting on eight touchdown passes in three playoff games. He has outplayed Rookie of the Year candidate Andrew Luck along with two other quarterbacks you may have heard of, Peyton Manning and Tom Brady. While doing so, the five-year veteran broke the record for most career playoff wins on the road, a title formerly held by two-time Super Bowl champ Eli Manning (a quarterback who knows a bit about Super Bowl MVP Awards).
